Relief measures provided during all natural disasters are included under this activity.
Quite a number of natural disasters take place in various parts of the country during any given year. They are due to heavy monsoon rains, (floods and landslides), extreme dry conditions and, most recently, due to the Tsunami. Although a tsunami was never experienced during the past 2000 years or more, the recent one has been caused to destroy the livelihood of more than 500,000 families in the northern, eastern, and southern provinces of the country.
Presumably, it would take at least another 10 years or more for them to get back into their normal living pattern.
